Don’t misunderstand me, I LOVE summer. Flip-flops and bikini tops without a goose-bump in sight, mid-week bonfires and trips to the beach are simply fabulous. The unstructured “crazy, lazy, hazy days” of summer are, in my world, a reward for all the hard work and busy schedules.
That being said, I get bored very quickly, as those of you who attend any of my classes can attest. So when the kids go back to school and the darkness arrives earlier and earlier, I am excited by the promise of a new schedule and a more predictable calendar.
New Schedule and Some Familiar Names
Speaking of new schedule, the fall schedule has started, and totals 41 exciting classes per week!
Joyce is back for Circuit Training on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4 p.m., and JoEllen will be returning in October for her signature Kickboxing class. Other exciting changes are a 7 a.m. KUTT Circuit class, taught by yours truly, and Kirsten’s taking on a Core Fusion class on Thursday evenings at 5 p.m. Six pack anyone? Easy Rider spin is also back on the schedule Thursday mornings for anyone looking for a “Beginner Spin” class.
For all of you Moms out there, Tama a.k.a. the Baby Whisperer, has the classes covered every weekday morning at 9 a.m., and Thursdays both at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. For you evening moms, we have an awesome new babysitter on board, Cynthia Buchanan will be in the back room from 5 – 7 p.m., Monday – Thursday.
In addition to our unlimited class schedule, JMF also has some exciting extras.
Monday nights are busy upstairs with Men’s Yoga taught by Eileen, and Tai Chi with John in the main studio. Seva Yoga is a free, open yoga class on Fridays at 5:45 p.m. that raises money by donations for various non-profits in our area, including the Pike County Humane Society. Ballroom Dancing is still going strong and has just reached its one year anniversary. You’ll find it at the studio every other Saturday night at 7 p.m. Hidy Karate and Weight Watchers are also thriving at JMF.
