Autumn is coming, and with the change of the seasons comes the new schedule at Jen Murphy Fitness.

Autumn at Jen Murphy Fitness Brings a New Schedule and New Classes

The fall schedule is up and kicks off tomorrow, August 28. Morning classes are back to our usual 9 a.m. start time, and new additions to the schedule include Chair Yoga and Yin Yoga. Piloxing and Hot Yoga are back, as well as Kickboxing with Jo Ellen. Jazzercise has been so popular during the week that a Friday night Jazzercise Dance Party has been added, and it kicks off at this Friday, September 1, at 5 p.m.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga runs 10:15 a.m. on Tuesdays in the Main Studio, and is perfect for those who enjoy the benefits of yoga but do not enjoy getting up and down off the floor. It’s also part of our Silver Sneakers series, and therefore is free to those who have the Silver Sneakers benefit through their insurance. If not, classes are only $5 walk-in, and of course free to Jen Murphy monthly members.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga, Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. in the Yoga Studio, targets deep tissue to enhance range of motion and flexibility while working to relieve pain in the lower back, hips and spine. Rooted in yoga therapy and meridian energy medicine, these supported floor postures are designed to allow gravity to rehabilitate connective tissue.

Piloxing in Milford is Back

If you are new to the studio, Piloxing is a fun mix of kickboxing, pilates, and dance. The class is easy to follow, and combines fat-burning, sweat-inducing kickboxing and dance moves with fun, energetic music, and will have you smiling throughout the whole workout. Abs are always included for a total body burn, guaranteed to leave you energized and ready for the day.

Want Cut Arms?

One benefit to summer ending is the return of kickboxing. Kicks, punches and combos are Jo Ellen’s specialty. Heavy bags are the focus of this class, gloves or wraps are recommended, bring your own, or borrow ours. Just a few classes and you will notice a difference in your arms! No experience necessary. Classes begin September 16.

Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga is back and moving to Thursday nights. Deepen your stretches and sweat away the stress of the day in this super-popular 90 degree class.
